Why We're (Maybe) Your Insurer's Favourite Advocate

A Different Kind of Advocacy

From our experience, most insurers are not deliberately trying to “mess up” your claim.

More often, claims go wrong because of systemic problems inside insurers. Inexperienced claims handlers, outdated systems, rigid procedures, and internal rules can create outcomes that feel unreasonable, even when no one individual is acting with bad intent.

This is why our approach to advocacy looks different.

Working With the System, Not Just Fighting It

Our goal is not to create conflict for the sake of it. We focus on understanding the rules that govern how insurers assess and settle claims, and then using those rules to move your claim forward in a practical way.

That means clearly identifying:

  • Where mistakes have been made in the handling of the claim
  • What should have happened under the policy, the law, and industry standards
  • What a reasonable and workable path forward actually looks like

Rather than just telling an insurer they are “wrong,” we aim to show them, step by step, how the claim has gone off track and what needs to change to fix it.

A Recent Example

In a recent claim, we presented the insurer with a clear and structured breakdown of:

  • The specific mistakes and issues that had arisen during the claim
  • The correct position based on the policy and the facts
  • A practical plan to resolve the issues and progress the claim

The outcome was not an argument or a standoff. The insurer accepted the approach, agreed to fund the evidence that was needed to properly assess the claim, and worked with us to move the matter forward. The claims handler’s response was telling:

I want to reiterate again our thanks for the clarity you have been able to provide with this claim

That kind of response does not come from “going soft” on insurers. It comes from presenting clear, well-reasoned positions that are difficult to ignore.

Holding Insurers Accountable, Without Burning Bridges

This approach is not about letting insurers off the hook.

But by knowing the rules, understanding how insurers operate internally, and presenting fair solutions, we can often unlock progress that pure confrontation does not.

In many stalled or mishandled claims, the problem is not that the insurer cannot fix the issue. It is that no one has clearly shown them how to fix it in a way that fits within their systems and obligations.

Getting Your Claim Moving Again

When a claim has stalled, been mishandled, or gone off track, the most powerful leverage is often clarity.

Clear facts. Clear evidence. Clear reasoning. And a clear pathway forward.

This is the core of how we approach advocacy. Not by shouting the loudest, but by understanding the system well enough to make it work the way it is supposed to.
